Al Fagaly Al Fagaly (5 January 1909 - 23 April 1963) was a U.S. cartoonist and creator of the Super Duck and There Oughta Be a Law! comic strips.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.atlastales.com/cr/271 )〕 Born in Waynesburg, Kentucky, Fagaly later moved to Oregon before settling in Vancouver, Washington. He was a neighbor of Basil Wolverton. After serving in the U.S. Marines, Fagaly returned to Vancouver in the mid-1930s and founded Columbia Photoengraving in order to get the local newspaper, the Vancouver Columbian, to publish his cartoons. He offered to supply the newspaper engraving plates for free if the newspaper would pay him for the cartoons. Since the cost of photoengraving was much more than the going rate for artwork, the newspaper agreed, and Mr. Fagaly became the staff cartoonist for the Columbian. In 1935, he created a comic strip, "Skip Logan," for the Thompson Service in Cincinnati, OH.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://comics.ha.com/heritage-auctions-newsletter/auction-realized-2.6-million-after-auction-sales-continue.s?id=2103#collector-b )〕 Fagaly created the daily comic strip There Oughta Be A Law! in 1944 while living in Nantucket, MA.〔 ==References==
